I'm back, with a beautiful poem by mary oliver.

every day
i see or hear
something
that more or less

kills me
with delight
that leaves me
like a needle

in the haystack
of light,
it was what i was born for-
to look, to listen,

to lose myself
inside this soft world-
to instruct myself
over and over

in joy,
and acclamation.
nor am i talking
about the exceptional,

the fearful, the dreadful,
the very extravagant-
but of the ordinary,
the common, the very drab,

the daily presentations.
oh good scholar,
i say to myself,
how can you help

but grow wise
with such teachings
as these-
the untrimmable light

of the world,
the ocean's shine,
the prayers that are made
out of grass?

Music for your Monday.

I came across this song a little while ago, and loved it immediately. You know the feeling you get when listening that gives you tingles? This gave me that. Jem and Ben had it as the processional for their wedding, and it was beautiful. Plug the headphones in and let it distract you!
Enjoy.

Croquet

We had a little turn at croquet yesterday afternoon. It was delightful in the afternoon sun! The Hookhams always tend to be a little too competitive, however yesterday I found there was a nice balance. The key is a willingness to lose and laugh about it!

Technique somewhat imperfect, but the 'proper way' always seems less comfortable!

Jesus is Lord!

Jesus is Lord! As I was riding on the bus home from work this afternoon, I spotted it in the sky. Hallelujah! All the 'Jesus All About Life' advertising around Sydney is so encouraging. I feel it has made an impact on our city. A city which needs it!!

It's funny (?) how it takes writing in the SKY for me to remember Jesus at times. I go about my day, going through the 'motions' and can forget what this life is about.

Living for God and serving him with all I have.....by.......

hanging at home

chilling with my husband

studying

seeing good friends

kids church

work...

remembering him in everything!!
